The claustrophobic setting and use of shadows make "Astonish" a truly amazing and frightening cover.

"Weird" is just wrong. I'm too easily distracted by the awful interior decorating. That loud yellow wall color is a terrible choice for a room meant for relaxation and TV watching, and the plants on the wall are just so tacky.

The monster here needs weapons to make him look scary because otherwise you see how goofy he looks, the framing also hides away the fact that he is coming out of the TV.

Off-topic -- Did you know you can still revert to the old blogger interface? On the top-right, click on the [Gear Icon] Blogger Options > Old Blogger Interface.

(It does then give warning, "The old Blogger interface will be removed in the coming months.)

Thanks, Erik: another nifty analysis!

Delta: yes, I'd actually reverted to the old interface! But I know it's only temporary and I have to learn to use the new one. Argh!
