Dirty Deeds Done Dastardly Dollar-Sensibly

Q: Which one of these participants in the world-famous "Wacky Races" will cheat in a "dastardly" manner to get ahead and win the race?

If you answered Dick Dastardly, you're only partly right. Because the real answer: pretty much every one of them:

Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2
Wacky Races #2

Is it any wonder that virtually every racer was booted out of the WASCAR (The Wacky Association for Seventies Cartoon Auto Racing) circuit for unsportsmanlike conduct, leaving only Penelope Pitstop? And you wondered why she left a lucrative racing career in order to be stalked around the world by Paul Lynde, right? Well, there you go: yet another Hanna-Barbera cartoon mystery finally solved by yours truly, Bully — reminding you that cheaters never prosper!

For what it's worth, I got to visit Thailand last week, where Boomerang Southeast Asia airs dubbed Hanna-Barbera cartoons. The dubbed version of Penelope Pitstop? Adorable. Maybe more so than Janet Waldo's version.

I also discovered Thailand's B. Grimm Company, which didn't seem Ben Grimmy enough for nomination to the 365 days. But the thought did cross my mind!

Ah, I yearn for the Saturday morning cartoons of yore.

Perhaps it is time for a series revival with the addition of new racer Bully in the Stuffed Speedster who can teach proper manners to my favorite automobile enthusiasts of yesteryear.
