So Close But No Cigarroooooooo

Ever have one of those days? Where, sometimes, despite your beast intentions, you just can't get that proper arroooo out? Let's take a look at some of the more hilarious arroooo bloopers and blunders, shall we?

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Werewolf by Night #8 (August 1973), _script by Len Wein, pencils by Werner Roth, inks by Paul Reinman, colors by Glynis Wein, letters by Jean Simek Izzo
Hey, not perfect, but pretty good! That's not a bad start, but you've got to growl it more.

Not Quite Arroooo
Not Quite Arroooo
Panels from Captain America #330 (July 1987), script by Mark Gruenwald, pencils by Tom Morgan, inks by Sam DeLaRosa, colors by Ken Feduniewicz, letters by Diana Albers
No, no, emphasize your R's. Deep in your throat, repeat after me: rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Werewolf by Night #1 (September 1972), script by Gerry Conway, pencils by Mike Ploog, inks by Frank Chiaramonte, letters by John Costanza
Oooh, that's better. But don't forget about the follow-through. That kinda just dropped off at the end. You know better than that, Wolfie!

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Marvel Comics Presents #56 (August 1990), script by Len Kaminski, pencils by Jim Fry, inks and letters by Brad Joyce, colors by Gregory Wright (Colors)
Better! But make that 'H' silent, all right? No 'H' at the beginning of it.

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Werewolf by Night #37 (March 1976), _script by Doug Moench, pencils and inks by Don Perlin, colors by Diane Buscema, letters by Debra James
No, no, no! What did I tell you about the "H's? Bad werewolf! Bad! (slapping you on the snout with a rolled up Transylvanian Times)

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme #9 (November 1989), script by Roy Thomas, Jean-Marc Lofficier, and Randy Lofficier, pencils by David Day, inks by Dan Day, colors by Christie Scheele, letters by Joe Rosen
Okay, now you're forgetting the follow-through "oooooooo" again. (Either that, or the panel just ended too early.) Let's just try that bit: repeat after me: ooooooooooo

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Moon Knight #30 (April 1983), script by Doug Moench, pencils and inks by Bill Sienkiewicz, colors by Christie Scheele, letters by Joe Rosen
Excellent! Well done! Here's a snausage. Now, put it together with what we've learned so far, and what do we have?

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Giant-Size Werewolf #4 (April 1975), script by_Doug Moench, pencils and inks by Yong Montano, colors by Janice Cohen, letters by Marcos Pelayo
Geez, now you're just vamping. Stick to the script, Hairy! Take it one more time from the top!...

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Marvel Comics Presents #54 (July 1990), script by Len Kaminski, pencils by Jim Fry, inks and letters by Brad Joyce, colors by Gregory Wright
No, no, no! Arroooo! ARROOOO!

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Strange Tales v.5 #1 (September 1998), script by Paul Jenkins, pencils and inks by Leonardo Manco, colors by Mariana Manco, letters by Jonathan Babcock
No, look! Let's try a different approach. You're sneaking up on a gothic regency damsel in distress. How are you gonna express yourself in a way that will send her running into the arms of Mister Rochester, huh?

Not Quite Arroooo
Panel from Spider-Woman #19 (October 1979), script by Mark Gruenwald and Steven Grant, pencils by Carmine Infantino, inks by Mike Esposito, colors by Ben Sean, letters by Jim Novak
Oh, for Pete's sake! You're not even trying anymore.

Not Quite Arroooo
Panels (this one and the one below) from Werewolf By London v.2 #1 (February 1998), script by Paul Jenkins, pencils by Leonardo Manco, colors by Marie Javins, letters by Janice Chiang and The Human Touch
Oh, for...I give up. Just forget it. Drop it. I'm done.

Not Quite Arroooo
Ehhhhh...close enough.

Yeah, all that howling did rather peter out towards then end. Possibly because the fair Jessica went out and smacked them all on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper for waking her up.
